YomTov Frosting for Challah PDF Print E-mail

Decorate your homemade or store purchase challah with this fabulous frosting recipe.

Ingredients:

1 cup confectioners sugar, sifted
Orange juice, milk or water
Chopped pecans, chopped dried apricots, chopped raisins or craisins, or a mixture of  diced dried fruits

Directions:

Mix 1 cup confectioners sugar with a drops of orange juice (or water or milk) until spreading consistency (not too thin). With rubber spatula, gently spread (or drizzle) on challahs.

Quickly add the toppings and gently press in with fingers to make the toppings stick to the glaze. Let dry thoroughly before wrapping lightly with plastic wrap to store until serving.

If freezing the challah, do not glaze. Bring to room temperature before glazing.
