This pizza crust, shared with us by our daugher Aliza, is easy, quick and delicious! Total time to make - 20 minutes including the rise! It's a rustic masterpiece. Use parve, dairy or meat toppings.
Ingredients
1 packet yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons) mixed with 1/4 cup warm water
2 3/4 cup flour
1 Tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon olive oil and more for brushing pizza crust
1-cup warm water
Directions
In a mixer fitted with a dough hook, mix all ingredients in the order listed above. (This can be done by hand as well, and it works fine!)
Mix until dough forms a sticky ball. Put ball on a floured surface; add a bit more flour if very sticky. Divide into 2 pieces. Brush a pizza pan with some olive oil and roll each half to fit 2 medium or use all to fit 1 large pizza pan. Cover with a cloth, and let rise about 10 minutes. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Brush crust with additional olive oil, then sauce, and top pizza with your favorite ingredients. Bake at 425 for about 12 minutes or until cheese is melted and crust looks brown on edges.
