If you haven’t reached your caloric intake for the month – here’s one that will help you attain your goal. Perfect on a cold winter night, or for that matter, any night or day.
Ingredients:
2 cups whole milk
1 glazed or sugar-coated cake style chocolate doughnut
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
pinch of salt
Directions:
In a blender, combine the milk and doughnut. Puree until very smooth. This could take a minute or longer.
Transfer the mixture to a medium saucepan. Whisking constantly, heat over medium until it thickens, about 3 or 4 minutes. Add the chocolate chips and salt, whisking until the chocolate has melted and the mixture is smooth. Serve immediately.
Notes:
Yield: Serves 4
For thinner hot chocolate, add milk at the end or add a bit of strong hot coffee.
