Hot Fudge Ice Cream Sauce


Simply outrageous, the best hot fudge sauce we've ever tasted.


1 cup sugar
1 teapoon vanilla
3/4 cup plain unsweetened cocoa- such as Hershey’s
1 cup heavy cream (whipping cream) 
4 ounces (1/2 stick) unsalted butter


In a small saucepan, combine sugar, vanilla and cocoa.  Add half the cream and whisk until smooth.  Add remaining cream; blend well.  Simmer on low, stirring continually until sugar dissolves.  Add butter and vanilla; simmer, stirring often, until mixture is smooth and thick, about 3- 5 minutes.  Keep warm.

Mixture may be stored in refrigerator. When ready to use again, simply warm desired amount in microwave. Scrumptious on fruit, frozen desserts, cakes and pies


Yield: 8 or more servings

For parve, Use Rich’s Whip and butter substitute such as Earth Balance
