A classic recipe for Vanilla Ice Cream. The vanilla flavor of the ice cream will change, depending on the type of vanilla used − from sweet and creamy, or sweet, creamy and spicy to fruity with floral notes. Try all three types of vanillas and pick your favorite.
Ingredients:
1 pint whipping cream
1 pint half and half
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract* or Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Bean Paste*
1/8 teaspoon salt
Directions:
Mix all ingredients until sugar dissolves. Cover and chill until ready to use. Follow the manufacturer's directions on your ice cream maker to churn and freeze ice cream.
Notes:
*Choose from Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract, Mexican Pure Vanilla Extract or Tahitian Pure Vanilla Extract. Each extract has a slightly different flavor profile.
Madagascar Bourbon is sweet and creamy.
Mexican combines sweet and creamy with a deep, spicy character, like a clove or nutmeg.
Tahitian has a fruity taste with floral notes.
Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Bean Paste also offers a sweet and creamy flavor while enabling you to add the visual appeal of real vanilla seeds to your ice cream. Enjoy!
