Floral Berry Smoothie

IMG 5951

This is a koshereye original. Inspired by a relative that introduced use to adding rose water to smoothies. A delicious crisp twist. Thank you, G-d for the varieties of fruits and ingredients you provide us to enjoy cold fresh drinks on hot summer days. The blessing for this smoothie is Shehakol.

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְ‑יָ אֱ‑לֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם שֶׁהַכֹּל נִהְיָה בִּדְבָרוֹ:

Baruch atah A-donay, Elo-heinu Melech Ha’Olam shehakol nihiyah bed'varo.

Blessed are You, L-rd our G‑d, King of the universe, by Whose word all things came to be.

Ingredients:

1 cup blueberries

1 cup strawberries

Enough milk to cover fruit (around 2 1/2 cups) - Substitute with coconut, almond, or oat milk.

2 tbsp. rose water

1 date (pitted)

Directions:

  1. Take out your favorite blender.
  2. For kashrus reasons, open dates, remove the pit, spread open and hold to a bright light. Make sure there are no bugs.
  3. Add all ingredients into the blender and pulse for 40-50 seconds occasionally stopping all contents to fall near the blade and begin pulsing again.
  4. Serve in a cup with a wide straw.
