2 Ribeye steaks
2 teaspoons Montreal steak seasoning (like McCormick brand Grillmates)
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon canola oil
Unwrap 2 steaks and rub them lightly with olive oil
Shake and “massage” Montreal steak seasoning all over steaks
Put unwrapped steaks in refrigerator 4-24 hours.
Heat grill and rub grill very lightly with canola oil
Put steaks on grill – brown steaks on both sides
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Optional: Place browned steaks in oven for a few minutes until they reach desired doneness. (We aim for an internal temperature of 125 degrees for medium rare). Tent steaks with foil for 10 minutes and serve.
The additional oven step is optional. Steaks can be finished on the grill pan. We often make steaks ahead, and therefore finish and keep them warm in the oven.
