Spring Sangria - A KosherEye Signature Recipe
Lovely in April made with seasonal fruits such as strawberried, blueberries, peaches and oranges ...and delicious in cool weather made with apples and pears
Ingredients:
1 bottle chilled ginger ale
1 bottle chilled sparkling white wine, such as Hagafen Sparkling Brut Cuvée or Bartenura Prosecco
Optional: 4 ounces Triple Sec
A seasonal spring assortment of fruit such as peaches, orange sections, halved strawberries, melon, or a cold weather assortment of fruit such as apples, pears & any seasonal fresh or frozen fruits you like! Garnish with fresh mint if available
Directions:
Place about 2 cups of cut up fruit in a large pitcher
Add Triple Sec if using. (Binyamina is Kosher for Passover)
Let fruit macerate for 4 hours or overnight
Just before serving, pour wine and ginger ale over fruit
Press fruit slightly with a long wooden spoon or use a muddler.
Chill for at least 30 minutes.
Pour into 10 ounce tumblers or chilled glasses and garnish with additional sliced oranges.
