If you want to try a good BBQ sauce or rub, try these three – they are great to use when grilling beef ribs, lamb riblets, flanken ribs and add an extra layer of flavor.
For the Rub:
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon kosher salt
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 1/2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
Mix the above ingredients together, rub on the ribs and grill.
Two Sauces for Basting:
Traditional BBQ Sauce:
1/2 cup ketchup mixed with 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce, 1 tablespoon honey and 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Bourbon Glaze:
Heat 1/4 cup bourbon, 1/3 cup molasses, 1/4 cup orange juice, and 1 tablespoon grainy mustard, in a small saucepan, over low heat until syrupy.
