Entrée to Judaism for Families
Jewish Cooking and Kitchen Conversations with Children
By Tina Wasserman URJ Press
Author Tina Wasserman "wants children to gain the skills and confidence that come with learning to cook". And, along with kitchen know-how, Chef Tina wants children to learn the vibrant history of their families and the Jewish people as told through the food we eat, and to create "cooking memories for a lifetime".
The 192 page book shares photographs of each recipe, and is available in hard cover and also as a fully interactive e-book that actually teaches children about kitchen equipment and cooking techniques through additional photographs and videos. All of the recipes are kosher, and a photograph accompanies each. Adults and children will enjoy preparing the foods they like to eat through precisely explained recipes. Entrée to Judaism for Families provides the essential tools for helping children learn to cook with confidence, with clear, step-by-step instructions for every recipe and tips for adults to make the experience safe and rewarding.

This book follows Tina's best selling cookbook, Entrée to Judaism: A Culinary Exploration of the Jewish Diaspora, where she leads her readers on a journey of the food and stories of Jewish communities around the world and across the ages. Just as in her first book, every recipe is also a story. Entrée to Judaism for Families provides opportunities for families to share those stories. There are recipes for everyday and holidays along with the popular "Tina's Tidbits", helpful cooking advice for cooks of all ages.
KosherEye recommends this book for older children and adults. Entrée to Judaism for Families will encourage children to join their families in the kitchen and to learn about their Jewish culinary heritage.
