Parve, Dairy-Free Products
When you can't find the product you need − there is only one thing to do − create it yourself. And that is exactly what Kelly Coffin did. Growing up on his grandparent's dairy farm, Kelly was raised on dairy products – dairy farming has been in his family for generations. When he had a family of his own and found out that they needed to immediately eliminate all dairy from their diet, it was complicated. Kelly and his wife spent time trying alternative non−dairy products and nothing measured up.. So out of necessity, their goal was to create a safe, natural, dairy-free product – their requiremens were that the products had to be delicious, nutritious, healthy, non-dairy, and not contain any strange ingredients found in so many alternative products. Wayfare Foods was launched in 2009, in Bozman, Montana. Today, WayFare’s products include dairy free cheeses, dips, sour cream, and more. The products are gluten free, vegan, soy free, cholesterol free, non GMO and kosher certified under the Vaad Hakashrus of Montana.
We sampled several of Wayfare Foods products.
Some of our favorites include the meltable dips: Cheddar, Guacamole, Nacho Cheddar, Jalapeno Dip. We enjoyed these over our "nacho pizza"(tortilla chips, corn, olives and ground beef); as toppings for our cheese fries; and in a "faux dairy" mac and cheese casserole. Bottom line- if you can imagine it, you can substitute these products.
The non-dairy sour cream is perfect for baking and adding to recipes when we want a parve, creamy sauce. Try our delicious No-Boil Noodle Kugel, Cinnamon Streusel Coffee Cake, and our signature Beef Stroganoff
WayFare products taste very much like "real thing" and are a good alternative for those who are on special diets. They are excellent for the kosher cook who can use the cheese and sour cream products as recipe substitutions when serving a meat meal. Check out the recipes on the WayFare website.
