Say Kosher Cheese!

#9  Les Petites Fermieres Havarti with Dill

Les Petites Fermieres Havarti DillHavarti cheese was developed in Denmark in 1870 by Hanne Nielsen, and was originally named after her dairy farm,“Havarthi.” We have Ms. Nielsen to thank for this very popular Danish cheese and Anderson International Inc. for the kosher Les Petites Fermieres brand of Havarti cheese.

Havarti is a creamy, semi-firm, mild cheese and its flavor is often compared to Gouda. Made in California, the Les Petites Fermieres Havarti with Dill is a wonderful example of this very popular cheese.  It has a subtle flavor of dill, not overwhelming, and we enjoyed  slicing it and eating it with crackers.  This brand of Havarti is easily recognized by its pyramid shape and the two young Danish farm girls pictured on the label. "Made with love by the little farm girls", aptly describes this cheese.

Serve this delightful cheese with a nice glass of wine, or enjoy it in a sandwich.
