We heart Peanut Butter & Company

I love peanut butter & company

Who could have ever imagined that the everyday staple of our childhood (and likely yours too) could be “Cinderella-ized” and grow up into a gourmet, upscale and “cool” to eat food! Yes friends, we are talking about peanut butter, still a staple in 75% of American homes. We are truly nuts about the all-natural, sooo delicious Peanut Butter & Co. peanut butter.

It all started in New York’s Greenwich Village in 1998 in a small, friendly, peanut butter sandwich shop…located just one block from NYU. This unique concept, a PBJ sandwich shop, was focused on selling comfort food to the neighborhood college students. Soon however, owner Lee Zalben realized that he had something special when the shop attracted a diverse customer base, not just students, and they came not just for a sandwich, but brought along empty Tupperware containers to buy bulk peanut butter “to go”.  From one small store, the products soon were offered through a mail order catalog, then at Dean & Deluca, and gradually at supermarkets nationwide. Quite an American success story!

What makes this peanut butter different than all other peanut butters? From planting to harvest, shelling, roasting, and grinding--strict quality standards are upheld. The company supports American peanut farmers and uses only peanuts grown in the USA.  Peanut Butter & Co. (OU certified) is the world’s fastest growing brand of peanut butter.

The flavors are heavenly; the taste indulgent! And, remember, we should know, we live in the Peanut state.  Choosing favorites from the jars we sampled was a “sticky situation” ... but of course we did!

We absolutely heart

White Chocolate Wonderful: Natural peanut butter blended with white chocolate – we tried it on graham crackers, apples and, of course, in a sandwich. We could hardly stop ourselves from scooping it straight out of the jar!

Dark Chocolate Dreams: Natural peanut butter blended with rich dark chocolate…tastes like a chocolate peanut butter cup. Spread some on a banana!

Cinnamon Raisin Swirl: We spread this on cinnamon raisin bread, added some strawberry preserves and paired it with a cappuccino… Wow!

And then for some nostalgia: Smooth Operator and Crunch Time:  Both are all natural, made with peanuts, a bit of salt, cane juice and palm fruit oil. And, of course, one is smooth and the other loaded with crunchy pieces of chopped peanuts.
