Dinner and Conversation with the Social Media
On Monday, November 7th just prior to the start of 2011 Kosherfest, the world’s largest kosher trade show, 26 members of the online kosher media including bloggers, website owners, magazine editors and cookbook authors, gathered at Solo Restaurant in Manhattan to sample the food of renown chef David Kolotkin, enjoy new champagne introductions from Royal Wine and to chat about trends in kosher food and social media. The dinner, coordinated by KosherEye, included an evening of Tweeting, Facebooking, live conversation, fun and feasting!
The guests agreed that the spectacular menu, created by Chef David Kolotkin, Executive Chef of Solo and Prime Grill restaurants, reflected the expanding versatility of kosher, due to the wide variety of available kosher products, as well as the growing skill of professional chefs.
The menu was truly mouthwatering and offered a choice in each category:
Appetizers: Big Eye Tuna Tartar, Mushroom Risotto, Crispy Veal Sweetbreads, along with a tasting of Crispy Vegetable Spring Rolls, Buffalo Chicken Lollipops, Sliders
Entrees: Pan Seared Organic Scottish Salmon, Half Roasted Chicken, Pan Seared Black Angus Filet along with a tasting of Tacos, Roasted Fingerling Potatoes, Japanese Eggplant
Desserts: Mandarin Crème Chiboust Brûlée, Molten Chocolate Cake, Passion Fruit Meringue
Royal Wine, the largest importer and distributor of kosher wines in North America, presented a tasting of two champagnes, Drappier Carte-D’Or Brut and Drappier Carte Blanche, products of a new joint venture with Champagne Drappier, the highly regarded French Champagne house. These are the first–ever kosher cuvees from the famed Champagne region, and are outstanding additions to the growing availability of kosher spirits.
KosherEye would like to thank Marissa Rosenberg, Prime Hospitality Group Marketing Director, for working with us to make the evening a huge and delicious success, And, Esti Berkowitz of Prime Time Parenting for her able assistance.
