What an amazing experience this was for me to be present at Susie Fishbein’s Kosher By Design Cooking Coach cookbook launch at Pomegranate Kosher Supermarket, Brooklyn, NY. The event kicked off with Pomegranate’s beautiful display of fruits and salads to munch on as we waited for guests to arrive. Susie then began to demonstrate Helen’s Turkey Taco Egg Rolls, a recipe taken from her new book. The book is really not “just another cookbook” but more like Susie herself actually being in the kitchen with you. This book features two unique sections:
The Game Plan section includes everything from useful cooking equipment, and the proper way to use them, to helpful tips and techniques for use before you get started cooking to help bring out all the flavors of the ingredients you are using, as well as enhancing the presentation of your dish.
The Playbook section, which is unique, and I feel will be greatly appreciated in everyone's home. We all know how everyone “loves” leftovers. This section shows you several options on how to turn leftovers into different dishes, masking the idea of a “leftover” meal. Susie demonstrated how the leftover turkey mixture can be used to make Stuffed Portobello Mushroom Caps and Turkey Ziti. Absolutely amazing!! Your family will never know it originated from the leftover turkey mixture.
This innovative cookbook, featuring 120 new delicious recipes, will surely be a staple in everyone’s home!!
