Butterfish
Japanese Restaurant

Joey Allaham and The Prime Hospitality Group
expand again!

New York's first kosher omakase* Japanese restaurant is scheduled to open Sunday, July 20th in Manhattan's Sony Building. Butterfish originally opened to the public as a traditional, authentic, and Japanese omakase restaurant in April 2014, but has just been taken over by Prime Hospitality Group and supervised under the Orthodox Union (Joey Allaham loved the concept so much and the Chef agreed to turn it kosher!). True to its name, the goal of Butterfish is to offer fresh, quality fish that will literally melt in your mouth. Served over warm rice, the hand selected Japanese fish is prepared with the simplest of ingredients.

The menu will offer soups, salads, sushi, sashimi, and include Kobe beef sushi, beef shabu and chicken tempura. A very special feature of the restaurant will be "Jin's Table" a unique chef's table experience offered by reservation only.

About Chef Hitoshi: As a young boy, Chef Hitoshi's father was constantly hospitalized leaving all responsibility to him. He cared for his family the only way he knew how, by cooking. Hitoshi trained in Osaka and was then selected by his colleagues to come to NYC to work as a sushi chef.
