Whoopie Pies by The Piping Gourmets
The Piping Gourmets was launched in October 2011 by co-founders Leslie Kaplan and Carolyn Shulevitz. The pair created Whoopie Pies, a line of all natural and certified gluten free desserts. The mission - to offer a variety of innovative, delicious, healthier desserts for today's health and taste conscious consumers. Both founders are well seasoned in the food world with experience in both catering and hospitality. Carolyn Broome Shulevitz is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. Leslie Kaplan is a graduate of Florida International University's School of Hospitality Management.
So what is a Whoopie Pie? It has been called a cupcake sandwich. Legend has it that these delicacies actually originated in the Amish country. When Amish farmers found the confection in their lunchboxes, they shouted WHOOPEE! And you will too when you taste these. Each individually wrapped Piping Gourmet Whoopie Pie consists of two cake halves generously filled with richly flavored cream. They can be stored in the freezer, and defrosted in minutes. Yumm!
